Licensed Chiropractor - Dr. Kip de Borghegyi, MS, DC - Los Angeles, CA

Health and fitness has been my life long passion.  I share this passion with others through chiropractic.  I was introduced to the field of Chiropractic after sustaining a serious neck injury in collegiate gymnastics.  I was amazed how quickly I healed and was back competing with just the touch of a doctor’s hands.  This experience formed my principal philosophy of “conservative care first.”  Strive to support the body in its own healing before stepping in with drugs and scalpels.  Chiropractic and exercise continues to insure my active lifestyle today.

My treatment approach is holistic; bearing in mind both the physical and psychological components of injury.  I utilize a combination of eastern and western manual muscle techniques with various chiropractic styles.  Using my expertise in biomechanics to address the “mechanics” of injury, I focus first on reducing pain, then on restoring normal joint function and finally, rehabilitation.  Addressing the “psychosomatic” expression of injury, I use various techniques to work with a patient’s current psychological state and their “psyche” around the injury.  This part of therapy can be very challenging for patients but, once embraced, allows for significant healing.

My educational and professional backgrounds combine twenty years of Exercise Physiology, Sports Biomechanics, and Chiropractic.  I was privileged to be on the team of scientists who developed the first CYBEX™ weight resistance machines; many of which you and I train on every day.  Following graduate school, I designed exercise facilities and fitness programs on cruise ships for Royal Viking and Norwegian Cruse Lines.  In 1987 I moved to Los Angeles to work with Jane Fonda as her ghost writer, video consultant and co-director of her spa retreat in Santa Inez, CA.  I continue to work as a technical consultant for exercise videos.

In order to fulfill my professional goals, I pursued my doctorate in Chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic College and received my degree in 1999.  After graduation I spent a year working primarily with children in a Scoliosis Treatment Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  My work there focused on the specific needs of children affected by this poorly understood condition.  I then moved to Italy for two years to work at Medical Clinics in Milan and Genoa.  There I was part of a multidisciplinary medial team treating a multitude of musculoskeletal conditions.  Working in these extraordinary busy clinics helped me further define my treatment philosophy and skills, as well as appreciate the powerful healing capacity of chiropractic.  I’ve been at Body Structure since August of 2002 where I continue to learn every day.  When I’m not in the office you can catch me sweating vigorously in a Bikram yoga class, hiking with my Boxer “Milo” up Runyan and other local canyons, and across the street working out at Gold’s Gym Hollywood.

Until we meet, peace and abundant health!
